PART-TIME AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM LEADER

Work 2 afternoons/week, potential for more. Applicant must be enthusiastic, friendly, and a good role model.

Must also have current 1st Aid Training, completed Vulnerable Sector (from local RCMP), and Child Abuse Check.

Leader will be responsible to plan activities, and supervise a small group of children, age 5-12 years old.

EARLY CHILDHOOD & FAMILY EDUCATOR

The NRFRC is a community based non-profit organization enhancing family support networks and parenting skills and providing child centered programs for children 0 – 12 years.

Designation: 30 + hours per week, permanent part-time, may develop to full-time.

Salary: To be negotiated, $25,000.00 – $33,000.00 annually

Start date: October 9th, 2017.

Job description: To collaborate with staff and volunteers to develop, promote, facilitate/implement and evaluate programs for parents/care givers, families and children.

Parenting classes may include; nobody’s perfect & winning at parenting.

Children’s programs may include; playgroup, tumblebugs, baby and me, cooking with children and others as opportunities present.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Level 1, 2 or 3 Classification under the Day Care Act and Regulations 40(1) of Day Care regulations
  • Experience in related field
  • First Aid Certification
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with community based programs, organizations and families
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to develop and implement centre based programs
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and understand the collaborative approach with co-workers, families and other participating members
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), organization and administrative skills
  • Computer skills to maintain website
  • A willingness to pursue professional development when necessary

Job Duties:

  • Develops, plans, implements, monitors, promotes, and evaluates programs as noted below
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with community based programs
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and understand the collaborative approach with co-workers, families and other participating members
  • Provide nutritional snacks to participants in all programs

Early Child Educator

The ECE develops, plans, implements, monitors, promotes and evaluates programs run for child aged birth to 5 years such as:

  • Playgroup (Monday and Thursday, 9:30 – 11:30)
  • Baby Group
  • Tumblebugs Program, once per year
  • After School Program/School Plus Program if needed, throughout the school year

Parent Educator

  • Nobody’s Perfect Parenting Program, once a year, or as needed, for small or large groups, or one-on-one
  • Child Restraint Systems Technician, help clients purchase, borrow, install, check for proper usage of child seats (infant seats to booster)

Website Technician

  • Update the Community Website using the current events in ‘The Flyer’
  • Adding ‘The Flyer’ to the NRFRC website and Community Site monthly
  • Posting relevant information regarding programming, events and public notices on the NRFRC Facebook Page

Assist with Other Duties at the Centre as required:

  • Review annually staff/volunteer/board member have up to date Vulnerable Sector and Child Abuse Checks on file.
  • Review annually Staff have up to date First Aid (preference to standard first aid) on file.
  • Answering phones, client questions and program/registration/information
  • Providing referrals for services
  • Filling in other duties for staff, as requested
  • Other duties as required

Title: Early Childhood Educator

Job description: To organize and operate a pre-school program in the community of New Ross.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Classification under the Day Care Act and Regulations 40(1) of Day Care regulations
  • Experience in related field
  • First Aid Certification
  • Satisfactory Child Abuse Registry checks and Vulnerable Records Police Checks
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with community based programs, organizations and families
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to develop and implement centre based programs
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and understand the collaborative approach with co-workers, families and other participating members
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral), organization and administrative skills
  • Computer skills to maintain website/social media pages
  • A willingness to pursue professional development when necessary

 

Early Child Educator Job Duties:

  • To develop, plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate a preschool program that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children ages 3-5 years.
  • Complete paperwork, and assist in fundraising for the program.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with community based programs
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and understand the collaborative approach with co-workers, families and other participating members
  • Provide nutritional snacks to participants in all programs
